OUR ARTIST OF THE MONTH: SAM ROLOFF
Sam Roloff is an innovator, with works that blend abstract expressionism with surrealism. His figures seem to interact with the viewer — with an engaging, unsettling, and vulnerable presence. The quality of his rendering is delicate and direct, and is supported by a surface that speaks volumes about what lies beneath. See him this month at Radio room and on his website.
ELVIS PANTHER
Elvis Panther is the House Artist of Radio Room, as well as one of our daytime bartenders. A consummate hobbyist, he was originally taken in as general “extra help”. He wanted to take on design and has been working hard to make good on his word.

BRIAN BUCHANAN
The “Fin” above the Radio Room entrance is artwork painted by Brian Buchanan, a Portland local artist. The painting of two female bicyclists sitting in a field was done in his “Toaster Galleries” style.

KALINA TORINO
The North wall of the upper deck is a mural painted by Portland artist Kalina Torino. One review of her artwork went like this: “The characters in Kalina Torino’s world are very much like real people: part human, part animal (or insect, or… fruit?), part sweet and innocent, part dark and plaintive, and; even at their cutest, unified by an underlying thread of loneliness.”

RACHEL SANDERS
The East wall of the upper deck is a mural painted by Portland artist Rachel Sanders. Rachel works in many different styles – including free association, mixed media, drawings, paintings, sculpture, interior design, and furniture.

MONTHLY ARTISTS / ARTS INTEGRITY
Arts Integrity is a service that finds artists seeking businesses and small business seeking artists, and brings the two together. Every last Thursday of the month, Arts Integrity brings us a new local artist. Artists who have shown at Radio Room include: Brin Levinson, Keith Svihovec, Kurtis Hough, Shanon Playford, Tim Combs, Mark Perry, Julie Johnson, Myah Bailey, Lucia Johnson, Kalina Torino, Jason Bradbury, Nicole Linde, Don Metz, Heidi Elise Wirz, Luke Dixon, and more.

ART-O-MAT
Radio Room is home to Portland’s only Art-O-Mat. Art-O-Mat machines are retired cigarette vending machines that have been converted to vend art. The art pieces themselves are original works and are the size of a cigarette pack or smaller. This provides a challenge for the artist and a low low price per piece for the collector. The Radio Room machine vends all local Portland artists. To purchase art from the Art-O-Mat, all one needs to do is ask a server or bartender for a token. Cost is $5.
